AVTV
MODERATORS: MR. PATRICK MCKAY & MR. ELIJAH DIMICHELE
Seton LaSalle's AV/TV team is in charge of running Seton LaSalle's daily morning announcements, which are live streamed to each homeroom. Technicians activate the stream, calibrate the backgrounds, ensure that lighting and sound are adequate and functional, and select the music. Other members of the team serve as anchors, leading the student body in a morning prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance before informing them of the day's news.
The AV/TV team also helps the entire school with its technological needs. Over the course of the year, the group performs numerous tasks to help classes and school functions run smoothly––setting up classroom equipment, assembling new devices, or just offering help during classes. The team also runs the technological side of Mass and other school events. Before each event, assigned members ensure that all necessary equipment is set up by connecting laptops to projectors, activating microphones, checking sound and lighting system settings. Afterward, they deactivate these systems and tear down equipment and store each piece securely.
Applications to join the AV/TV team are sent out in the spring. Membership is open to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors. Positions on the team are limited. Students may sign up to be a technician, morning announcement news anchor, or both.
